It was a good night if you’re a Tigers fan (and it sounded like there were quite a few at Comiskey tonight) as the kittens kicked off what this writer is certain will be a five-game sweep of the last-place Sox. The Good Guys were up 6-5 when Mark Buehrle left the mound and by the time all was said and done, the bullpen had given up four runs, the lead and the game. Why does it feel like we’ve seen this before?
And was it really only three years ago when Joe Crede’s walkoff put the Sox alone in first and pushed the Tigers into the cellar? Oh, how the mighty have fallen and oh, how the meek have inherited the Central.
In other news, Mets 2B Jose (pronounced “Ho-zay, Ho-zay-ho-zay-ho-zay, Ho-zaaay, Ho-o-zay” if you were around before 2005) Valentin is out for the season with a fractured right tibia and the Metropolitans have no regular second baseman lined up behind him. The Sox have an everyday second baseman in his walk year. COMMENCE IRRESPONSIBLE AND UNINFORMED TRADE RUMORS!!!
